For more than 500 years, Thiers has been the centre of French knife manufacturing excellence. Lion Sabatier was registered as the first Sabatier trademark as early as 1812, and is the only one allowed to use the lion as a symbol. As the ‘king of animals’, the lion stands for strength, agility, superiority and is a guarantee of quality for the consumer. Although modern machines have long since replaced the hammer and anvil, at the Rousselon factory, many parts of the long production process are still carried out by hand. The result is one of the best knives that money can buy.
