Named after the Scottish Island where the original 12th-century set was found, the Lewis Chess Set from Royal Selangor is a pewter replica of the exquisitely carved originals now on display at the British Museum.
The opposing sides are differentiated by the finish. One a dark matt pewter and the other a glimmering polish.
The characters are poised for battle on a beautiful board crafted from nyatoh, scorched with an interwoven knot motif from the king’s throne.
